What is Facial Acne Treatment?
With the three facial acne treatments that we offer, clients regain a healthy appearance that boosts their sense of confidence. Depending on your situation and the severity of the acne scars, we will choose the most appropriate procedure.
- Fraxel – Acne scars are not on the surface but below the skin, where pockets form that create them. With a Fraxel laser treatment, we focus beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate the production of collagen. As collagen grows, it fills in the pockets, which reduces the appearance of scarring.
- Microneedling – To treat acne scars, these small needles go deep into the skin to stimulate the production of both collagen and elastin, which helps smooth the appearance of scarring.
- PicoSure – This FDA-approved laser facial acne treatment achieves impressive results. Regardless of the number or severity of the scars, this procedure has become the preferred choice for treating many clients dealing with scarring caused by acne.
Who Is a Candidate?
Because each treatment that we offer for reducing the appearance of scars caused by acne is unique, you will need to have a consultation with one of our medical experts. That way, the right treatment gets chosen to ensure optimal results.
What to expect?
- Fraxel – If your acne scars are minor, you may get the results wanted with just one Fraxel treatment, whereas with more severe scarring, you will likely need several sessions. In either scenario, results do not typically show until after having gone through two procedures. Overall, the full effects of this treatment are not usually visible for about 6 months. Each treatment takes roughly 20 to 40 minutes to complete, which is pain-free and safe.
- Microneedling – Because the needles work deep in the skin, the produced collagen and elastin fill pockets that cause acne scarring. For the best results, you will likely need four to six treatments, each spaced out about four to six weeks apart. If your scarring is severe, you may need additional treatments. Regardless, there is no downtime following the procedure.
- PicoSure Focus – In just 15 minutes, this facial acne treatment will eliminate the appearance of acne scars. As a laser treatment, PicoSure stimulates the production of collagen without impacting surrounding skin cells. For milder cases of acne scarring, five treatments work well, but for severe cases, you may need upwards of 15.
