Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can make your lips fuller, asymmetric and plumper. This treatment can be done by using dermal fillers which is a non-surgical injectable procedure.

There are several types of dermal filler that can be injected in your lips and around your mouth. However, the most popular fillers are products that contain hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance found in your body. It also helps in adding volume in to your lips.

Such type of dermal fillers is sometimes called “hyaluronic acid fillers”.

One of the most common dermal filler is Collagen, which is used less often today. There are newer options which are safer and the effects last longer.

There are also other methods such as fat injections and implants to plump your lips. However, they are less likely to be used nowadays as the results vary and there is greater risk of side effects.

Uses of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers can change the appearance of your lips by adding shape, structure and more volume to it. The effects usually last around six months. But after that, more filler injections are needed to maintain the volume of your lips.
