Does CoolSculpting Treat Cellulite?

We hear this question along with many others about CoolSculpting treatments. CoolSculpting is an FDA approved fat reduction treatment. It is used to treat stubborn fat in the abdomen, flanks and neck area(double chin).  It is not an effective treatment for cellulite.

Cellulite is a fat deposit beneath the skin that looks like lumpy, dimpled flesh. Anyone can have cellulite, skinny, overweight and ideal weight people can all have cellulite. Most doctors agree that cellulite is hereditary and is passed through genetics. Diet and exercise can help with the appearance along with laser treatments and retinol creams. Unfortunately, there is not any proven method of eliminating cellulite permanently at this time.

CoolSculpting freezes fat cells that are then naturally eliminated from the body. By reducing fat cells in an area of the body that has cellulite like the abdomen or thighs, some patients see smoother skin after CoolSculpting. This does not permanently remove cellulite though as there are many other factors that attribute to cellulite. Hormonal changes, diet, exercise and genetics all play a role in the amount of cellulite on the body.

Cellfina is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive, one-time procedure that is clinically proven to treat the primary structural cause of cellulite for long-lasting results. This treatment has only been approved for the buttocks and thigh areas of the adult female.
